Tulip Lily of the Valley Festa Takino
May 16 @ 9:00 am – May 31 @ 5:00 pm
Getting here by public transport: Take the Nanboku line from Sapporo Station to Makomanai Subway. Then transferring to the Hokkaido Chuo Bus [True 106] Takino Line which takes around 30 minutes, getting off on Suzuran Park Central Exit for Takino Park.
Takino Park is home to one of the largest displays of tulips in the Sapporo area, featuring around 230,000 tulips across approximately 120 different varieties.
Whilst walking through the park, visitors can also enjoy beautiful displays of German irises alongside rare pink irises, creating a colourful spring atmosphere throughout the gardens.
If you have driven by car, car parking is ¥500 if you don’t have an annual pass. Entrance into Takino is ¥450 per adults, and children go in for free. Weekends get incredibly busy, and even getting in to park can take a while so if you want to come at a quieter time to get pictures without anyone in them, come on a weekday and for when they open.

Bring a picnic to enjoy in the park, surrounded by the beautiful flowers on offer. There are plenty of benches and grassy patches in the shade to enjoy a lovely picnic.

Following the end of the festival, you can come back on the designated day to dig and take away the tulip bulbs to plant in your own garden which is just the most amazing and lovely idea!
